Proud Richard’s Restaurant was established in 2021 with a simple vision: to bring exceptional fine dining and seasonally inspired cuisine to Jacksonville, Illinois. After years of studying under multiple executive chefs throughout the Chicagoland area, our founder developed a passion for creating memorable dining experiences centered around fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and thoughtful presentation. That passion became the foundation of Proud Richard’s and continues to guide everything we do today.

Proud Richard’s is absolutely awesome! We decided to eat here while working in town a few weeks ago. We were welcomed in like we were regular customers. We were greeted by Joe, the owner, when we arrived. He was extremely friendly and personable. He even remembered us when we stopped by again this evening. The food is fantastic! I had the filet last time and it was one of the best filets I have ever had. The fries are well prepared and fantastic. I was shocked to find such great food in Jacksonville and it’s reasonably priced. They have a smaller menu because they make everything in house. No premade frozen foods here. The skillet cookie is wonderful as well. We will be back in November working again and we already made our reservation to return. If you’re in Jacksonville book a reservation and go to Proud Richard’s. You won’t be disappointed.

Proud Richard’s is my favorite restaurant. Just a short ride from Springfield, lL to go get a delicious meal with great service. The menu changes with the seasons and I have favorites on each one. Tonight my friend and I ordered my summer menu favorite: Chicken piccata. Made with locally grown chicken, using thighs that are perfectly seasoned and added to a delightful lemon sauce with capers. It is so good! My husband tried the pork schnitzel, with spatzel. He said it was delicious. We were so full, but how do you pass up homemade key lime pie, peach parfait (roasted peaches with mascarpone cream), and the best skillet cookie I have ever eaten! We shared a bite or two of each…and brought leftovers home. Chef Joe Standley is a young chef that definitely knows how to prepare only the best meals, and a cooking staff that makes him proud. The servers are delightful and do everything to make sure you are well taken care of. Make a point to add it to your restaurant list. It is definitely worth the trip!😋
